Igelösa Life Science Community is a medical research centre outside of Lund, Sweden. Our mission is to develop new clinical methods and innovations within organ transplantation, cardiopulmonary resuscitation and lifestyle related disease prevention. We cooperate closely with scientist at Lund University as well as leading scientific institutions and hospitals around the world.
Our vision is to contribute to medicine and medical technology, particularly within the field of cardiothoracic surgery. We are devoted to excellence in research, education and development. Our organization is permeated with a holistic patient focus.
Our staff includes doctors, biomedical analysts, nurses, engineers, nutritionists and chefs. The medical clinic is fully equipped and has ten guest rooms available for long term patients. Here we can monitor and document changes in blood chemistry and physiology over time.
The research kitchen is run by professional chefs who develop and serve breakfast, lunch and dinner on a daily basis. All meals are prepared following the principles of an Okinawan-based Nordic diet and are served in the community of our dining room.
Our strategy is to create a centre of excellence for scientists, guest researchers, patients and industrial partners. Igelosa is designed by scientists for scientists. We cooperate with international universities, hospitals and patient organizations as well as with medicine technology and food companies. We reinvest our financial resources in our research.
